Before Your Surgery

Pre-Surgery Instructions

A Registered Nurse from our center will call you several days prior to surgery.

The purpose of this call is to confirm your surgery start and scheduled arrival time. Additionally, they will obtain a brief medical history and provide you with important pre-surgical instructions. This call also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

If we have not contacted you at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled surgery, please contact us directly at (303)795-2244.

Pre-Admission Testing and Health Changes

If you have orders from your physician to obtain blood tests, EKG, or other tests or exams prior to your procedure, please arrange to have them completed and the results made available to you and your doctor no less than 14 days prior to your scheduled surgery.

Please bring the results of the testing with you or have the results faxed to Littleton Day Surgery Center at (303) 795-5965. Alert your doctor to any recent changes in your health; i.e., cold, flu, elevated temperature, communicable diseases (measles, chicken pox), etc.

Arrange Transportation

Plan on arriving at the surgery center one and a half (1.5) hours prior to your scheduled procedure time, unless you are instructed differently. Because you will be undergoing anesthesia, a friend or family member is required to accompany you to the surgery center and take responsibility for driving you home.

It is advisable that someone remain with you at home for the first 24 hours following surgery.
